We are seeking an experienced Mechanic Systems Specialist to join our team at the Museum of Science. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our building's mechanical systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our visitors and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems, including hot and chilled water systems, steam heating systems, air handlers, packaged rooftop units, and other related equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical systems using advanced diagnostic and repair skills for commercial mechanical systems, DDC, and pneumatic controls.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to other technicians and staff on building mechanical systems and their operation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining building mechanical systems, hot and chilled water systems, steam heating systems, air handlers, packaged rooftop units, and other related equipment in an educational, institutional, industrial, or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex repairs using advanced diagnostic and repair skills for commercial mechanical systems (pumps, seals, actuators, etc.), DDC, and pneumatic controls.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in the service and repair of split refrigeration systems.
  • An advanced understanding of building and equipment schematics and diagrams.
  • Technical experience and working knowledge of building management systems.

Salary Range: $35-$42 USD per hour.
