About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Controls Technician to join our team at The Building People. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a challenging role that involves designing, engineering, and programming control systems for smart building infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

">
  • Control System Design and Engineering: Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Programming Expertise: Ability to program projects with various levels of complexity.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Capable of performing network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting and repair programming.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with the engineering team on the system configuration, network and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintains accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines. Provides owner training as required by the project.
  • System Commissioning: Executes system commissioning and functional testing.
  • Installation Assistance: Assist in installation of control hardware.
  • Startup and Commissioning: Startup and commission new hardware installations.
  • Project Management: Provide project management assistance on projects as required, interfacing directly to customers.
  • Supervision: Supervise sub-contractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Training and Development: Help educate lower-level technicians through on the job training as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
  • Certification: Niagara N4 certification.
  • Manufacturers' Experience: Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls a plus.
  • Tech Knowledge: Technical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
  • Work Environment: Must be willing to work at heights.
  • Lifting Capacity: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
