Job Title: Marketing and Events Manager

At Boston University, we are seeking a highly skilled Marketing and Events Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote our event venues, designing custom registration sites, and coordinating program needs for summer overnight accommodations and year-round events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Boston University's event venues, targeting a wide range of events such as day-only, multi-day, overnight conferences, social events, and weddings.
  • Design custom registration sites and housing reservation sites.
  • Coordinate program needs for summer overnight accommodations and year-round events and conferences, including creating proposals and contracts, arranging and execution of services, and financial reconciliation.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective clients, providing detailed information about venue options, pricing, and services.
  • Manage up to 2 student employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, while providing day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of relevant experience, with a focus on customer service, events/conferences, or hospitality, and demonstrated expertise in marketing within these fields.
  • Passion for customer service and the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure while effectively and diplomatically communicating with a variety of constituencies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to be proactive and follow through on projects independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and experience in creating/editing websites.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends for events or client meetings.
  • Valid Drivers License, knowledge of Boston University and supervisory experience is preferred.
