Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to new nurses in a clinical setting, focusing on areas such as communication, time management, and decision-making.
  • Assist new graduates in developing their skills and confidence through hands-on training and coaching.
  • Collaborate with clinical mentors to ensure a smooth transition for new nurses into their roles.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of new nurses.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive learning environment for new nurses.

Requirements:

  • Two years of progressive experience in an acute care clinical setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Ability to facilitate clinical-based employee training in a classroom setting.
  • Relevant teaching experience and/or 3 months of experience serving as a preceptor preferred.
  • BLS certification required from the American Heart Association.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of VA.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, with hours varying between Monday to Friday (4pm-10pm) and Saturday/Sunday (10am-4pm). Schedule requirements include at least one day per week and one weekend shift every third week, in addition to two boot camp sessions per quarter.
