We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse Unit Supervisor to join our team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth clinical operations and compliance with our organization's goal of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based practice and research into clinical and operational practice.
- Participate in the analysis of unit-based quality outcomes and develop action plans to improve outcomes.
- Provide coaching and counseling to clinical staff on critical processes, standards, and problem-solving.
- Serve as a role model in communication with patients and facilitate resolution of concerns.
- Conduct effective safety huddles and make decisions to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Seek opportunities to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with high-quality ISHAPED handoff.
- Provide oversight of Registered Nurse rounding to ensure patient satisfaction.
- One year of Operating Room nursing experience is required.
- Two years or more of direct OR Registered Nurse Supervisory experience is highly desired.
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
- RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA.
- CNOR preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic situations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and healthcare software required.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
