Plant Facilities Director

At Shriners Children\u2019s, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Plant Facilities to lead our maintenance and engineering team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the maintenance of all buildings, structures, grounds, and supporting equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and engineering, with a proven track record of managing teams and budgets. You will be responsible for coordinating and budgeting for all building operations, including the engineering and biomedical departments. Additionally, you will oversee the regulatory compliance of life safety code and other standards of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and DHEC.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and budgets for all building operations, including the engineering and biomedical departments.
- Manages and supervises the hospital maintenance services, including maintenance of all buildings, structures, grounds, supporting equipment, and employees.
- Oversees the regulatory compliance of life safety code and other standards of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and DHEC.
- Manages the mechanical and building functions of the department, including engineering, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, locksmith, and general mechanics.
- Serves as a role model, mentor, and coach to staff, motivating them to fulfill their potential as employees.
- Writes and reviews department policies.
- Studies and implements all codes to ensure hospital compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and licensing.
- Ensures responsible, timely, and thorough responses to meet the needs of the Hospital.
- Ensures and directs the repair of Bio-Med equipment.
- Identifies problem areas and provides effective strategies for their resolution.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering, 4 years of experience in Maintenance/Engineering in a hospital setting, 4 years of Management/Supervisory experience, and 4 years of Facility Management experience.
- Preferred: Certification and Licensure.
