Job Description:
The Lean Manufacturing Consultant will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing and implementing lean manufacturing strategies, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve results. This includes analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Communicate with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes, increase safety, and solve ergonomic concerns.
- Use creativity, innovative approaches, and industry-accepted methodologies to solve complex problems.
- Facilitate non-technical personnel in leading Kaizen events.
- Implement 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work projects.
- Assist the champions of other CI projects as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years experience in lean manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green belt preferred.
- Experience with leading project teams.
- Experience with Lean Systems Implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent technical skills (mechanical/machining/Special Process).
- Capable of executing Lean in engineering environments (order flow, technical specs, estimating, configuration).
- Ability to effectively manage Lean or Kaizen events and supporting resources.
- Ability to influence leadership across functions, and at many levels from shop floor to conference room.
- Strong analytical & coaching skills. Goal to develop Lean experts throughout the plant.
- Transparent, results-oriented, and accountable with strong customer focus.
- Must be passionate about results gained the right way, through the development of people and processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing, transforming environment.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience with emphasis in Outlook, Excel, Project, and Powerpoint.
- CAD knowledge preferred.
- Occasional travel, less than 10%.
Salary:$85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
