Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is a key member of the Wayne Farms team, responsible for performing preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed to ensure optimal working condition.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, making repairs quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting work performed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including inventory, stock, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to schedule regular maintenance on equipment.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where required, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational certificate in a relevant field (welding, maintenance, electrical, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to enter work records in a database.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work extended shifts, including holidays and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to work in cold/humid or hot/dusty environments.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, crawling, stooping, kneeling, etc.
