Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is on the lookout for mid and senior-level engineers with expertise in Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA), Advanced Nuclear technologies, or licensing to meet regulatory and risk-based client requirements. Our consulting team provides services to the nuclear sector and supports clients globally. We engage in specialized technical services across a diverse range of engineering projects, from routine nuclear power plant operations to pioneering research and development focused on plant safety.

Responsibilities

The Consulting Engineer will become part of a vibrant team of nuclear consultants operating nationwide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing PRA and risk-based analyses, calculations, assessments, and guidance for a variety of projects in the nuclear sector. This includes engineering analyses, regulatory and licensing support, machine learning applications, software development, and PRA-based licensing applications. A solid understanding of engineering principles, quick learning ability, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • Prior experience in PRA, nuclear licensing, or advanced nuclear technologies is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PRA internal events, fire PRA, external hazards, and risk-informed applications is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with nuclear power plant engineering, systems, licensing, operations, or related technical departments is a plus.
  • Experience with commercial nuclear risk software tools is beneficial.
  • Project management skills are an added advantage.
