Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - Nuclear Medicine

At Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, we prioritize patient care and strive to provide exceptional healthcare services. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - Nuclear Medicine, you will play a crucial role in our mission to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive isotopes to generate imaging information for patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Adhere to industry standards, IEMA guidelines, and hospital protocols to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures.
  • Assess and evaluate physician orders for Nuclear Medicine examinations according to departmental protocols.
  • Position patients and perform diagnostic imaging procedures using Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras.
  • Provide patient education on radioactive isotope safety and radiation safety-related matters.
  • Participate in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
  • Act as a physician assistant during sterile procedures associated with Nuclear Medicine guided procedures.
  • Notify physicians of changes in patient condition or unique imaging characteristics.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including films and associated paperwork.
Requirements:
  • ARRT or NMTCB accreditation
  • IEMA-Division of Nuclear Safety licensed and accredited
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Training Program
  • CEUs consistent with licensing and accreditation requirements
