Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Embassy Suites in Portland, ME.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responding to Guest Requests: The Maintenance Engineer will respond to and handle guest and department radio requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner, following up to ensure 100% satisfaction.
  • Completing Work Orders: Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments in a timely basis.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that equipment is working properly.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 1-3 years of previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of painting, drywall, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing preferred. General knowledge of machines and basic hand and power tools.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and move around during entire shift. Must be able to lift, push, and pull items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Languages: Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions, receive job assignments, and communicate progress and/or completion of assignment and basic guest requests.
