Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer - Maintenance Specialist to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Portland. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Respond to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner, communicating with guests to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including inspecting and replacing worn-out parts.
  • Safely perform complex repairs of physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, adhering to company standards and local/national codes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment, including pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and pool heaters.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical background preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance, electrical, or refrigeration, with parts inventory and requisition skills.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License necessary.
  • Familiarity with engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in hotel engineering/maintenance, with supervisory experience an asset.
  • Possession of a valid EPA license desirable.
