Job Overview

The Risk Management Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in evaluating the efficiency of internal controls, risk management strategies, and governance frameworks within our organization. This position is tasked with crafting and sustaining internal control documentation while ensuring adherence to SOX regulations throughout various financial processes. Furthermore, the role will contribute to special SOX initiatives and assist in the annual external audit activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and governance frameworks
  • Evaluate compliance with organizational policies, legal standards, and regulations
  • Create and revise internal control documentation and testing strategies
  • Examine critical financial controls to verify compliance with GAAP and SOX standards
  • Review financial data and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement
  • Draft audit findings and collaborate with management on improvement plans
  • Manage the SOX tool, Fastpath, while keeping abreast of industry developments
  • Assist with special SOX projects aimed at strengthening the SOX framework

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of GAAP, SOX, and regulatory compliance
  • Expertise in accounting software and financial data analysis
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in SOX/Internal control environments
