Compensation Overview

The salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market assessment and encompasses a wide spectrum of compensation for this role across the country. The specific salary will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and scope of the role, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience, as well as other employment conditions. Additionally, our comprehensive compensation and benefits package includes eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

As the Senior Director of Architecture, you will spearhead the initiative to establish the technological vision for the Enterprise Data and Analytics Unit within a leading global company. Reporting directly to a member of the Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technology leadership team, you will collaborate with senior technology executives to enhance our current business and technological capabilities, paving the way for superior solutions. You will partner closely with senior Technology and Business leaders to define a strategic vision, develop roadmaps, and identify innovative technologies that will revolutionize and optimize our operations. As a leader, you will inspire and mentor a team of accomplished Architects, fostering their growth and development. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking executive with a proven history of delivering high-quality enterprise solutions and building effective teams. You are results-oriented, possessing robust architectural and engineering expertise along with a profound understanding of contemporary technologies such as Cloud-native solutions, APIs, AI, and ML. You are a person of integrity who challenges the status quo while prioritizing understanding and collaboration. You will work alongside a community of architecture leaders dedicated to establishing and evolving a cohesive architectural vision.

What Will You Do?
  • Oversee a segment of Technology Architecture in alignment with the Enterprise Data and Analytics business unit.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in Technology and Business to establish architectural priorities and direction that support business objectives.
  • Exhibit strong thought leadership in modern architectural principles and technology modernization.
  • Drive ongoing technological transformation to reduce technical debt.
  • Foster a partnership with Senior Software Engineering leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technological advancements through analysis of key industry and technology trends.
  • Lead technology proof of concepts to validate new architectural solutions.
  • Define the target state technology architecture and associated roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the defined target state.
  • Build a robust partnership with engineering to align skills with technological direction.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications outlining architectural direction and its alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Optimize talent strategy to ensure a balanced mix of resources and attract top talent.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience with over 7 years in technology architecture.
  • Experience mentoring architecture teams.
  • Leadership experience in an agile operating model.
  • Ability to define strategic technology direction and architectural vision.
  • Expertise in Software Engineering.
  • Experience developing technology target states and roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Experience in insurance technology.
  • Strong understanding of value creation and business capability models.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for technology transformations.
  • Hands-on experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience executing technology modernization initiatives, including cloud-native migrations and API strategies.
  • Current knowledge of AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or substantial architecture experience in the cloud.
  • Good understanding of security practices.
  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms.
  • Experience modernizing data technology and information architecture in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques utilizing ML and AI.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data technologies.
  • Experience with Master Data Management solutions (e.g., Informatica).
What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a business line or enterprise area.
  • Two years of prior management experience.
