Senior Biomedical Equipment Specialist

The Biomedical Equipment Technician III (BMET III) is a highly skilled professional responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of complex biomedical equipment and systems.
This role requires independence in technical supervision and the ability to serve as an advisor to administrative, medical, and clinical staff in the safe use and proper operation of clinical equipment.
The BMET III must be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of duties and contribute to department improvement and development by mentoring other associates.
This position also requires adherence to the Providence Health & Service core values in all professional interactions, demonstrating respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify the performance of complex biomedical equipment and systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to administrative, medical, and clinical staff in the safe use and proper operation of clinical equipment.
- Contribute to department improvement and development by mentoring other associates.
- Adhere to Providence Health & Service core values in all professional interactions.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent education/experience.
- Military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and professional skills.
- Increased levels of certification and training as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Biomedical Technician certification upon hire.
