Job Summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a skilled Risk Adjustment Coder to join our team. As a key member of our clinical documentation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records to ensure accurate coding and compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Utilize encoder and grouper software to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes
  • Collaborate with nursing and coding staff to ensure high-quality coding and documentation
  • Provide education and training to physicians and other providers on coding guidelines and requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding productivity and accuracy
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent medical coding education
  • Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system
  • Knowledge of AHA coding guidelines and methodologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
