Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified lecturer to teach a comprehensive food packaging course at the University of California-Davis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food science and packaging, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver lectures on food packaging and science topics
  • Prepare and grade assignments and exams
  • Hold office hours to support students
  • Work with a teaching assistant to conduct class activities and grading
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated teaching ability
  • Practical experience with food packaging or food processing in an industry or academic food processing/packaging operation
  • Familiarity with California and federal regulations related to industrial food packaging
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
