Job Summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Based Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential support services to youth in a school setting, promoting their success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize specialized knowledge of behavioral science principles to support youth in achieving their goals and improving their functioning in their home and community environment.
  • Provide services at the school site during school operating hours, utilizing a supportive educational approach to promote improved functioning and recovery.
  • Establish a caseload and coordinate with supervisory staff to ensure effective management of client needs and goals.
  • Participate in staffing and contribute to the development of treatment plans, exercising discretion and judgment in emergency situations.
  • Provide comprehensive follow-up services to clients, including outreach and engagement as needed.
  • Function in accordance with Burrell Behavioral Health Operational Guidelines and professional code of ethics.
  • Participate in staff development activities and contribute to the evaluation of self and others.
  • Be responsive to quality assurance procedures and follow established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge in mental health issues, evidenced by a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other related human service fields.
  • Valid Driver's License and use of personal auto for occasional transport of clients.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships with clients and their network of care.
  • Ability to follow direction and accept supervision.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role require the ability to stand, walk, and sometimes sit, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must also be able to walk and run up and down stairs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee must be able to perform duties both indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions.
