Position Overview:
The Center for Neurodegenerative Disease and Therapeutics (CNDT) at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level.
Role Expectations:
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading an externally funded research initiative focused on neurodegenerative diseases. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate innovative methodologies in exploring mechanisms, treatments, and biomarkers related to neurodegenerative disorders, whether at the basic science or translational research levels.
Research Focus Areas:
We encourage applications from individuals with expertise in the following prioritized research areas:
- Utilization of cellular and animal models to investigate neurodegenerative diseases, brain injuries, or aging, emphasizing high translational potential.
- Comprehensive analysis of gene expression and cellular signaling, extending to neural circuitry and systems-level approaches, including bioinformatics and in vivo methodologies.
- Development of novel therapeutic strategies, such as stem cell models, gene therapy, and small molecule interventions.
- Implementation of cutting-edge analytical techniques, including gene editing, advanced microscopy, neurophysiology, and artificial intelligence applications.
- Special interest in movement disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease.
