RUSH University Medical Center is seeking experienced researchers to advance its research mission in Family and Preventative Medicine. We are recruiting two full-time positions for Research Faculty to conduct rigorous, grant-funded health services research and contribute to departmental initiatives.
About the RoleWe are looking for individuals with a strong background in health services research, behavioral sciences, translational basic science, public health, social sciences, or other related fields. Ideal candidates will have experience or interest in initiatives such as establishing a primary care-focused practice-based research network or possess expertise in bioinformatics.
What We OfferThe department provides a strong infrastructure that enables researchers to successfully compete for external funding and pursue scholarly activities. Faculty have opportunities for protected research time and access to discretionary research funds. We offer a collaborative environment with a well-trained pool of clinical research staff and a Data Management and Analytics Core with several PhD-level biostatisticians, analysts, and data managers.
Our Research EnvironmentRUSH University partners with the University of Chicago and other local health systems and universities in the Institute for Translational Medicine, a NIH translational sciences center. We also partner with the University of Chicago in the Chicago Chronic Condition Equity Network, an NIH-funded health disparities research center. Additionally, we have established the Center for Community Health Equity to advance public health and reduce health disparities through community-engaged inquiry, scholarship, and service.
