Job Description

The Department of Kinesiology at UMass Amherst invites applications for a full-time Lecturer faculty position to contribute to our undergraduate and graduate curricula. We seek a candidate with expertise in strength and conditioning, human performance, and data analytics to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will deliver student-centered learning experiences in-person and online, with a typical course load of 3-4 courses per semester. Service work may include participating on department, school, and university committees. We value diversity and inclusion, and candidates with a commitment to these principles are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • A master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Content expertise in strength and conditioning, human performance, and data analytics
  • Previous teaching experience as an instructor of record for academic courses
  • Translational experience in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Potential for fostering equity and inclusion and evidence of working in a diverse team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Certification from ACSM, NSCA, or other related professional organizations
  • Experience with innovative pedagogical approaches and collaborations
Benefits

UMass Amherst offers a competitive salary and benefits package for Lecturer faculty. The minimum starting salary for an academic year appointment is $57,000, with potential for additional compensation for summer and winter educational activities.
