Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Lecturer faculty member to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and graduate curricula in the Department of Kinesiology. The successful candidate will have expertise in strength and conditioning and the ability to teach students with diverse learning styles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in strength and conditioning, human performance, and related areas
  • Develop and implement innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Content expertise in strength and conditioning, human performance, and related areas
  • Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Translational experience in the field of Kinesiology or Exercise Science
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Potential for fostering equity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • Certification from ACSM, NSCA, or other related professional organization
  • Experience with innovative pedagogical approaches and collaborations
  • Ability to mentor teaching assistants

Benefits

UMass Amherst offers a competitive salary and benefits package for Lecturer faculty. The minimum starting salary for an academic year (9-month) full-time appointment is $57,000, with actual salary dependent upon experience. This is an academic year (nine months), benefited, 2–year position that is renewable contingent upon performance.
