Principal Systems Engineer

Indotronix International Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Sterling Heights, MI.

As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing complex systems that support enhanced military products, protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in requirements development, management, and verification. You will be responsible for spearheading or assisting in requirements development and management, developing and directing subsystem and component performance specifications, and supporting requirements decomposition analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience. You will also have experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo, and be familiar with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).

  • Develop and direct subsystem and component performance specifications by evaluating and deriving necessary requirements.
  • Support requirements decomposition analysis to help drive concept architectures and system characteristics.
  • Direct and facilitate architecture development of assigned system, subsystems, and components.
  • Drive development and maintenance of interface requirements and interface design information for assigned sub-system, system and components.
  • Document concept design selections and generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
  • Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to drive design and document results.
  • Support the actualization and monitoring of cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence the design.
  • Support vehicle level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ year's relevant experience.
  • Systems engineering experience performing requirements evaluation, derivation and allocation, and translating requirements to viable concepts design solutions within applicable constraints.
  • Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives.
  • Knowledge of how to balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns.
  • Knowledge of how to plan, conduct and document complex trade studies.
  • Knowledge of how to generate System / Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments per the program statement of work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication know-how.

Desired Skills:

  • Logical architecture experience, including development of use cases.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Have and maintain INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Guidance and mentoring of younger engineers.
