We are seeking a highly skilled Prototyping Process Development Engineer to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our innovation team, you will be responsible for developing new extrusion processes and cable products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new extrusion processes and cable products
- Apply expertise in engineering to support new product and process development activities
- Establish tooling, equipment, and process design requirements
- Develop machine set points for ideal manufacturing conditions
- Design and development of new or modify and optimize equipment and continuous manufacturing processes
- Conduct research, propose experiments, and analyze data to test hypotheses
- Guide development technicians in the day-to-day activities needed to achieve milestones
- Commissioning and qualification of the new process in factory
- Maintain strong interaction with process development personnel located in US, Germany, and Poland
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree
- MS degree is desirable
- Years' professional experience with extrusion
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to share and clearly express technical ideas
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively within a global work environment
- Experience in computer-aided design for mechanical drawings
- Continuous process design and development experience
- Experience in polymer extrusion
- Capable of performing complex data analysis using MS Excel (SPC), or statistical software such as JMP or Minitab
- Experience with rigorous project management
- Artificial intelligence human-assisted design and/or demonstrated use of simulation software in the development of new processes or other process modeling abilities
- Competitive salary range: $81,000 - $111,770.00
