Job Title: Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our team at Corning Incorporated. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new extrusion processes and cable products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new extrusion processes and cable products
  • Apply expertise in engineering to support new product and process development activities
  • Establish tooling, equipment, and process design requirements
  • Develop machine set points for ideal manufacturing conditions
  • Conduct research, propose experiments, and analyze data to test hypotheses
  • Guide development technicians in day-to-day activities
  • Collect, interpret, and communicate data in technical reports and presentations
Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 0-5 years' professional experience with extrusion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to share and clearly express technical ideas
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in computer-aided design for mechanical drawings
  • Continuous process design and development experience
  • Experience in polymer extrusion
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis using MS Excel or statistical software
