Process Development Engineer

Corning is seeking a highly skilled Process Development Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new extrusion processes and cable products, with a focus on fiber optic cable processes. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to support new product and process development activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new extrusion processes and cable products, with a focus on fiber optic cable processes
- Apply engineering principles to support new product and process development activities
- Establish tooling, equipment, and process design requirements
- Develop machine set points for ideal manufacturing conditions
- Collaborate with research and manufacturing functions throughout the product development cycle
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree
- 2-5 years' professional experience with extrusion
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in computer-aided design for mechanical drawings
- Continuous process design and development experience
- Experience in polymer extrusion
- Ability to perform complex data analysis using MS Excel or statistical software
