About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities Maintenance to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, functional, and meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure the upkeep of our facilities, including routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets for maintenance activities, ensuring that costs are controlled and that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those related to safety, health, and environmental protection.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste in our facilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize maintenance needs, ensuring that facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in facilities management, with a focus on maintenance and operations.
  • Proven track record of success in managing maintenance teams and developing and implementing effective maintenance plans.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including those related to safety, health, and environmental protection.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment, with a focus on maintenance and operations.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability principles, with experience developing and implementing strategies to reduce waste and improve energy efficiency.
  • Experience working with vendors and contractors, with a focus on managing contracts and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
