Electromagnetics Researcher Position at RTX

RTX is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Electromagnetics Research Team as a Researcher Intern. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in RF circuits and electromagnetics, developing and executing programs that transition novel concepts from early technology stages to a state that impacts and influences businesses and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modeling, prototyping, and testing active and passive RF circuits
  • Electromagnetics and multi-physics modeling
  • Utilizing modeling tools and testing equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
  • Providing support for technical reports and presentations

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a Master's or Doctoral degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant course work on electromagnetism, atomic, molecular, and optics physics
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with fundamental components and instruments, including fiber optics, electro-optical components, light sources, detectors, electronics, and optical system alignment
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with simulation and computation tools, including ZEMAX, Matlab, Labview, and/or Python
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modeling in Zemax, including optical and optical fiber component simulation
  • Experience with photonic integrated circuits
  • Experience with metamaterial and metasurface designs
  • Experience with quantum optics and materials
