Job Summary

This role focuses on providing pharmacy-related services in a hospital or retail setting. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will be responsible for delivering pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, and maintaining pharmacy records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pharmaceuticals to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Perform inventory control and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inspecting medication and supplies
  • Prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals, including sterile compounds
  • Operate advanced automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation of sterile products
  • Participate in non-complex sterile and non-sterile medication preparation activities
  • Complete inventory management activities, including securing, storing, and maintaining records
  • Fill floor stock remote orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Restock medications into automated dispensing cabinets in patient care areas
  • Manage emergency medication inventory in carts/kits, including ordering and maintaining adequate supply
  • Perform assigned cycle counts of the carousel on a regular basis
  • Take accountability for medication management in assigned patient care areas
  • Assist with customer service activities, including greeting and assisting customers, and participating in point of sale cash transactions
  • Communicate effectively with nursing, physicians, and ancillary services to meet the needs of these departments
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • One (1) year of pharmacy-related experience
  • Preferred qualifications: Associate's degree, two (2) years of pharmacy-related experience in a hospital setting
