Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team at EdLogical Group, a member of the Point Quest Group. As a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional special education services to students who require specialized instruction.

About the Position:

This part-time position involves providing specialized instruction to pupils with Deaf and Hard of Hearing needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student. You will also be expected to maintain a safe and functional learning environment, observe and evaluate student progress, and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing needs
  • Provide specialized instruction to pupils in a self-contained setting
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
  • Adjust hearing aids, FM units, and cochlear implant processors as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid California credential authorizing teaching in a Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe classroom
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Knowledge of assistive listening devices and other assistive technology
  • Ability to use Sign Language
