Dental Assistant/Orthodontist Assistant

At Children's Wisconsin, we're dedicated to providing exceptional care to our young patients. As a Dental Assistant/Orthodontist Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our dental team in delivering top-notch care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Prepare patients for treatment, taking radiographs and performing sterilization functions as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Develop strong relationships with patients, parents, and healthcare team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest dental procedures and technologies.
- 1 year of training in a dental assisting program or equivalent work experience.
- 12 months of dental assisting experience or successful completion of a dental assisting clinical rotation.
- Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, sterilization, and x-ray techniques.
- Dental Assisting Certification and Pediatric or Special Needs dental assisting experience desirable.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computer and keyboard, word processing skills, and ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues.
- Ability to stand/walk/move a moderate amount of time, sit frequently, reach moderately, bend/squat/kneel occasionally, push/pull 50 pounds occasionally, and lift/carry items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
This is a casual role working Thursdays and/or Fridays, with flexible hours to meet patient care needs. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
