Position Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of a dynamic clinical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients, field clinicians, referral sources, and various agency departments, including Intake and Authorizations.
  • Manage patient scheduling from admission through to discharge, ensuring all appointments are timely and accurate.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and internal/external stakeholders to enhance the overall experience.
  • Address urgent scheduling requests promptly and manage daily follow-ups on missed or reassigned visits.
  • Verify patient demographics and prepare patients and caregivers for their initial home care visit.
  • Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring a supportive response.
  • Monitor compliance with processes and report any discrepancies to the Clinical Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all relevant policies and standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Equivalent / GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a related medical field.
  • Familiarity with third-party payor and managed care insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and coding.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to analyze data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
