Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of Gable Search Group. This position will be responsible for assisting with corporate accounting operations, executing standard cost and inventory control processes, performing month-end close duties, supporting the financial reporting process, implementing essential business controls, and assisting with ad hoc queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Operations:
    • Perform assigned month-end close duties, including calculating accruals, entering journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
    • Reconcile bank accounts through journal entries and coordination with accounts receivable team members to maintain the accuracy of related account balances.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Partner with the Controller on integration of businesses into XA general ledger.
    • Partner with the Controller to maintain XA general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Construction in progress and fixed asset capitalization activity.
  • Commissions and Incentives:
    • Calculation of monthly sales representative commissions.
  • Specialized Accounting:
    • Performance of specialized accounting duties for Canadian operations.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • F9 report generation, review, and analysis.
  • Physical Inventory:
    • Support of annual physical inventory activity.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Coordinate with the corporate tax team to provide tax-related financial information on a timely basis.
  • Audit Support:
    • Assist with annual financial audit and interim audit procedures.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Assist in the implementation of internal controls, including evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls.
  • System Enhancements:
    • Participate in system enhancements and integration efforts throughout the organization.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Interact with internal and external stakeholders in responding to inquiries or Powerlink financial data reporting and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Compliance:
    • Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements (if applicable), and the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Identify accounting issues, research possible solutions, and form conclusions to present to the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (GL, reporting, costing, public accounting)
  • Skills:
    • Public accounting experience
    • Manufacturing/assembly/distribution background
    • Infor XA system experience a plus
    • OneStream experience a plus
    • Sage experience a plus
    • CPA is a plus, but not required
    • Month-end close experience
    • Audit experience
    • Month end and year experience experience a plus
    • Balance sheet reconciliation preparation
    • Experience creating and posting journal entries
    • Working knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable
    • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing and growing environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to execute tasks independently and meet assigned deadlines
    • Advanced understanding of chart of accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
    • Possess strategic thinking and problem-solving skills and experience
