Position Summary

Tactical Air is actively seeking an Information System Security Officer who will play a crucial role in the formulation, execution, and upkeep of the organization's information security strategy. This position is essential for the proficient management and safeguarding of Tactical Air's information systems, data, and networks. The ideal candidate will align with the company's objectives and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the company's mission planning systems.
  • Install and upgrade servers, workstations, SAN/NAS storage, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Monitor system performance and health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve support tickets.
  • Conduct system backups, disaster recovery, and data restoration processes.
  • Maintain security tools, patches, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Manage user access controls, ensuring that access rights correspond with job roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate security awareness training to educate employees on the significance of information security, potential threats, and their roles in protecting information.
  • Support the company's CMMC 2.0 program Level 2 certification efforts to ensure adherence to relevant security standards, such as NIST SP 800-53/171.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving security incidents, taking necessary actions to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, prepare reports, and assist in generating metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures.
  • Stay informed about emerging security threats and vulnerabilities, providing recommendations for maintaining compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in security monitoring, assessment, and auditing methodologies.
  • High school diploma (GED) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or security roles.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+ are required.
  • Experience in security audits, risk management, incident response, security documentation, and compliance.
  • Ability to address information security risks and controls across the organization and promote effective monitoring of those risks.
  • Proficient in handling classified or protected information and maintaining records in accordance with required practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to various work sites across the U.S.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active and current DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an advanced degree.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network and system architecture, including cloud-based environments.
  • Strong skills in Windows-based applications and the ability to utilize various software tools (Microsoft Office 365/GCC High/MS Teams preferred) for document creation, reporting, and data management.

Work Authorization and Environment

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
