Job Title: Children's Ministry Weekend Coordinator

WestGate Church is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Children's Ministry Weekend Coordinator to support the Saratoga Congregation Children's Director. This part-time role will require occasional work on Fridays and Saturdays as well as evening hours, providing exceptional ministry-related administrative assistance to the children's staff and church body.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with Serve Team members scheduled for the upcoming weekend, noting any that need to adjust their schedules and find a substitute.
  • Participate in any training, recruiting, or appreciation events for our volunteer teams.
  • Check in with Serve Team members in order to let them know that they are cared for. Pray for them and follow up with them about their lives.
  • Open classroom each weekend. Ensure that everything the leaders need is in place and all pieces of equipment are turned on.
  • Greet people in KidzTown and help them feel welcome and cared for.
  • Ensure that every classroom is staffed with 2 adults as kids are arriving and continue to watch ratios of children to adults.
  • Be attentive to leaders ensuring they have all they need to teach and lead the kids through the provided activities.
  • Be attentive to classes to ensure that safety protocols and processes are being followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Conditions:
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Perform walking, bending, twisting, and kneeling.
  • Navigate stairs.
  • Demonstrate finger and hand dexterity for computer, instrument, and tool operation.
  • Possess specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
