We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department Behavioral Health Suite team.

The Role

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

You will work in a unique environment that sustains safe, innovative, and supportive care, designed with the input of staff and patients.

The Opportunity

This is a 24-hour/week position on the night shift (7p-7a) in the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Suite.

You will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary treatment team that believes patients are more than a diagnosis.

The Work
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates and communicates patient care needs to ancillary personnel.
You Have
  • A minimum of three years of acute care RN work experience serving this patient population.
  • A valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.
  • BLS and MOAB (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, problem solve, and utilize critical thinking skills.
