RN Staff Development Nurse

Position Overview:
The RN Staff Development Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Nursing department is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care to residents. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the professional development of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Education and Training:
    Develop and implement a comprehensive training curriculum that adheres to all relevant regulatory standards. Provide clinical education, oversee preceptor programs, and facilitate initial orientation and annual retraining for nursing personnel. Conduct rounds with nursing staff to assess their training needs and offer support.
  • Survey Participation:
    Engage actively in mock and state surveys, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to respond to surveyor inquiries and fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Human Resources Collaboration:
    Assist in the recruitment process for clinical roles, working closely with HR to address staffing needs and facilitate the onboarding of new hires. Contribute to initiatives focused on employee retention and recognition.
  • Additional Duties:
    Carry out other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Nurse Consultant.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN License in the state of Texas is required.
  • Experience in Education or Training is essential.
  • Preferred background in Skilled Nursing.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to foster a supportive learning environment for staff.

This role is integral to the ongoing development of nursing staff, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality care.
