Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer 2 to join our team at Orion Consortium. This role focuses on the effective migration of data to cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft 365 (M365) and OneDrive, while ensuring business continuity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the transition of data to M365 and OneDrive, guaranteeing smooth integration with minimal impact on ongoing business activities.
  • Devise and execute plans for transferring data from on-premises NetApp storage to cloud solutions, following industry best practices and security protocols.
  • Administer and optimize global NetApp storage infrastructures, addressing configuration, performance, and troubleshooting needs.
  • Evaluate storage performance and capacity, implementing proactive strategies to maintain scalability and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to collect requirements, outline project scopes, and deliver storage solutions that meet organizational goals.
  • Offer technical guidance and support for storage-related challenges, including resolving incidents and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Create and update documentation related to system configurations, operational procedures, and guidelines.
  • Establish and uphold data management policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies in storage and cloud computing, assessing and suggesting improvements as necessary.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
  • Experience with data replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies in both cloud and on-premises settings.
  • Expertise in migrating data to Microsoft 365 (M365) and OneDrive, with a comprehensive understanding of cloud migration practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of NetApp storage systems, including setup, management, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Storage Engineer or in a comparable role, focusing on NetApp storage solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing complex storage challenges.
Certification Requirements:

Mandatory: IAT Level II certification, CompTIA Security+ CE

Experience:

Education: High School diploma or GED with 19 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience.

Clearance:

Required: TS/SCI FS poly

This position necessitates a TS/SCI clearance.
