Philanthropy Engagement Manager

KEY DUTIES:
- Build and maintain stewardship-oriented relationships with a diverse portfolio of individuals, congregations, and foundations to garner support for the ministry.
- Formulate and execute a donor engagement strategy for the designated area, collaborating with others as necessary.
- Enhance and broaden financial backing, including major donations, from assigned individuals, congregations, and foundations.
- Foster enduring relationships with benefactors to ensure that planned giving commitments to the organization increase annually.
- Represent the organization at congregational gatherings, classis meetings, and other relevant events as required.
- Engage in significant travel within designated regions for in-person meetings, relationship development, donor appreciation, and fundraising activities.
- Maintain precise records in relevant databases (e.g., interactions with constituents) to support the cultivation of donor relationships.
- Assist in strategizing, setting goals, and establishing fundraising targets.
- Monitor expenses and prepare regular expense reports.
- Support prospect research and/or proposal writing as assigned.
- Collaborate with colleagues to build support networks in their respective areas.
- Stay informed and uphold best practices through continuous professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to staff as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:
- Ability to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Proven capability to motivate and inspire individuals to support the ministry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-driven, work independently with minimal guidance, and collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Capacity to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Proven skills in planning and organizing tasks and responsibilities, including multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated proficiency in commonly used software applications, internet research, and constituent relationship management tools.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred in a relevant field such as business, marketing & communications, or nonprofit management, along with equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated experience and success in fundraising or business development.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role.
- Regular travel throughout the assigned region.
