Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Fire Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our staff, students, and visitors during special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire watch and assist with life safety programs at special events, to include sporting events.
  • Respond to fire-related incidents as requested.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for special events.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physically able to walk event space, including climbing steep steps multiple times as required.
  • Ability to see, hear, and smell signs of fire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Valid NC Driver's License required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in Special Event populations.
  • Experience with patient triage in large-scale events.
  • Haz-Mat Operation plus certification preferred.
  • NIMS 300 preferred.
  • N.C. EMT Certification with Wake County EMS affiliation preferred.
