Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Print Operator to join our team at iMBranded. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of taking digital files from our Graphic Design Department and transforming them into printed forms on various fabrics and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive data files/images from Graphic Design Department and complete setup for printing activities
  • Start presses and pull proofs to check for ink coverage, alignment, and registration
  • Monitor ongoing printing activity and spot check to ensure quality finished printed products and no malfunctions or defects
  • Run finishing machinery, including Gerber MCT cutter, vinyl plotter, Zund sign plotter, and other specific finishing activities
  • Review work orders to determine product specifications, materials, and quantity requirements
  • Work with Manager and Graphics Project Managers to ensure deadlines are met
  • Conduct routine maintenance on department machines
  • Work safely and ensure coworkers are doing the same, per Company policy
  • Inspect finished goods for defects and advise Management of issues
  • Safely cut, shape, and trim fabric and vinyl printed elements using hand tools and cutting equipment
  • Assemble graphic visual frames and other plastic elements related to our graphics product line
  • Complete grommeting and other specific finishing activities
  • Prepare items for shipment to customers, including organizing, labeling, loading, and building crates
  • Safely lift and move raw materials and finished products to facilitate transportation to customer sites
Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Detailed, with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
  • The ability to receive and apply direction/instruction and then work autonomously towards the completion of job activities
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy lifting of awkwardly shaped graphic products and printer components
  • The ability to regularly bend and stoop to monitor printing activities
  • Extended periods on feet, walking between printers
  • The ability to safely use a wide range of hand cutting tools and machines
Qualifications
  • 2+ years demonstrated successful experience as a Press Operator or similar position
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to use large scale commercial graphic printers and conduct regular maintenance
  • The ability to safely and efficiently lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs
  • Demonstrated successful experience in a position requiring both strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and time management
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant experience as a Press Operator or in a similar position
  • 1+ years experience in sign manufacturing and finishing
  • Caldera Rip and Color management software
  • Familiarity with HP latex and HP dye sub equipment and software interface
Work Environment
  • Exposure to the smell of industrial printing and ink and related materials
  • Exposure to the sounds of a variety of large scale printers and hand cutting tools
  • Exposure to building materials and sawdust created in millwork production
