Position Overview:

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the Performance Hall, ensuring the smooth execution of all event-related activities while adhering to safety standards set by industry and governmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Directs back of house operations for various events, ensuring all logistical elements such as parking, concessions, security, ushering, cleaning, and staffing are effectively managed to meet event requirements.
  2. Acts as the primary operations liaison for events, collaborating with university organizations and external promoters to address event planning needs.
  3. Oversees the recruitment, training, supervision, and scheduling of back of house personnel, including student workers and labor staff.
  4. Maintains a comprehensive database for tracking certifications, in-service training, emergency drills, and mandatory university training.
  5. Manages the inventory of venue equipment, conducting inspections, coordinating maintenance, and making recommendations for replacements and repairs.
  6. Addresses logistical complaints and customer service issues with professionalism and courtesy.
  7. Assists in the formulation of operational budgets aligned with strategic objectives.
  8. Keeps detailed operational assessment files for projects and events.
  9. Conducts regular evaluations of existing audiovisual equipment and oversees maintenance and repair schedules.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree along with three years of relevant experience is required. A solid understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of the operational discipline is essential. Knowledge is typically acquired through a formal, directly job-related degree or equivalent specialized training. A minimum of three years of directly related experience is necessary.
