Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer specializing in AI for Security to join the Applied Research segment of Microsoft Security AI Research (MSECAIR). This role involves engaging in research to develop unique products and services within Microsoft's Security Division.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **AI Development and Automation:** Collaborate with research and product teams to create advanced AI services and automation tools aimed at minimizing security risks. Your contributions will enhance detection, containment, investigation, and remediation processes.
2. **AIOps System Architecture:** Design and implement a scalable AIOps system for production settings, ensuring robust and efficient operations.
3. **Experimentation:** Participate in the advancement of our AI experimentation and observation platform, driving ongoing improvements in AI models and user experiences.
4. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with senior technical personnel from Copilot for Security and other Microsoft Security products to integrate and enhance security solutions.
5. **Technical Design and Innovation:** Develop comprehensive technical designs and architectures to transition research innovations into practical, market-ready products.
6. **Leadership and Collaboration:** Promote leadership and teamwork across research and product teams, dismantling barriers and driving collective success.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with 4+ years of technical engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with SecDevOps and MLOps/AIOps practices.
- Proven experience in deploying large-scale ML/AI-based services or applications, preferably within the security domain on cloud platforms.

Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other machine learning frameworks.
- Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models) and OSS GenAI frameworks.

Compensation:
The typical base pay range for this role is competitive and varies based on location and experience.
