Building Sanitation Specialist

Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes power cleaning machinery to sweep, mop, polish, and buff floors. Conducts vacuuming and spot-cleaning of carpets.
- Performs routine cleaning tasks in office settings, including dusting, window washing, and moving furniture and equipment for thorough cleaning.
- Maintains cleanliness of fixtures, equipment, windows, walls, and restrooms. Ensures restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies as per schedule and need.
- Collects and disposes of waste; removes trash bags from bins and replaces them as required.
- Ensures cleanliness of elevators and stairwell areas.
- Prepares cleaning solutions by mixing chemicals according to established safety procedures.
- Picks up litter and debris from outdoor areas.
- Clears walkways and staircases of any obstructions.
- Assists in the timely completion of service requests.
- May help manage supply usage and maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Oversees the care of indoor plants, ensuring they remain healthy and visually appealing.
- Undertakes specialized tasks as directed by the Supervisor related to building maintenance and custodial services.
- Adheres to safety protocols at all times.
- Completes additional duties as assigned or requested.
Work Schedule: Part-time, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Additional vocational or specialized training is advantageous.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Essential Skills
- Familiarity with basic cleaning practices and operation of power cleaning equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret labels and written instructions for chemical mixing.
- Capability to lead and mentor others in custodial tasks.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, which may include lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with sustained attention and focus.
