Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient-oriented service in a clinical or Emergency Department setting
  • Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, and processing paperwork
  • Collect patient co-pays and insurance payments, and verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Utilize computer systems to enter and verify patient data in real-time
  • Process referrals, pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations according to insurance plan requirements
  • Identify outstanding balances and attempt to collect any amount due
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide compassionate and respectful service

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department, Physician office, or any medical setting
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
