About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freelance Production Assistant to join our Fox Weather Programming team. As a Freelance Production Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our production team in building segments, managing breaking news, and handling long-term projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pitch a variety of stories from breaking weather news to fascinating features on weather-related themes
  • Assist in building segments, managing breaking news, and handling long-term projects
  • Find the best sound bites, video, and graphics for the most informative and compelling segments
  • Write banners, edit video, and occasionally book guests, all while quickly responding to breaking weather news
  • Collaborate with Associate Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers to create content

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Previous internships or job experience in related roles
  • Passionate about the weather domain; previous experience is a plus
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient in leveraging social media platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills to work in collaboration with team members
