Job Description

AECC-Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Manager to oversee the operations of our transmission system in the Central District. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and testing of substations and transmission facilities in accordance with the Reliability Maintenance and Testing Program (RMTP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and testing of substations and transmission facilities in accordance with RMTP.
  • Coordinate and assist with the construction, operations, and maintenance activities of member cooperatives, and monitor the transmission system reliability within the district.
  • Participate in and provide evidence for forensic investigations, as directed and required.
  • Coordinate the operations, and inspection of all substations and transmission line assets within assigned district, as required.
  • Manage the use, operations, and maintenance of mobile substations deployed within the district.
  • Inspect, use, and document maintenance logs and inspection forms for district vehicles, trailers, mobile substations and assigned drivers within the district.
  • Schedule resources for maintenance and testing of district assets through use of Avantis Enterprise Management System (EAMS).
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct safety meetings monthly; implement safety in the work area.
  • Work with the Director and others in maintaining a skill assessment, technical training program, and a technician skills evaluation process.
  • Maintain the district's inventory of parts and supplies used in substation operations and maintenance.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field, plus at least 8 years total related experience, including 5 years of management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of electrical measuring techniques, particularly in the area of three phase power. Knowledge of electrical fault protection systems. Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code.
