Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to join our team in Columbus, OH. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers to produce monthly billings, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. This is a full-time, in-office position with no remote or hybrid options available.
Key Responsibilities- Produce customer billing packages, including invoices, pay applications, schedules of values, affidavits, and payment waivers.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to determine appropriate billing percentages by job each month.
- Send invoices via email and vendor online portals in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support Project Group Management and Executives as needed.
- Research and resolve billing issues as required.
- Work with clients to collect accounts receivable and reconcile billed amounts.
- Audit Billing rates for each employee, by employee category, for regular, overtime, and double-time.
- Audit allowable fees and user-defined markups; special rates may be set up for selected equipment codes and inventory items.
- Archive billing history as needed.
- Create T&M billings from actual, committed, and forecasted costs for Projects on a timely basis.
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred, but individuals with relevant billing experience will be considered.
- Experience with Deltek is preferred, and the ability to work with MS Excel is essential.
- Construction industry experience is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while meeting deadlines.
- Good communication skills - verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and coworkers.
