Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in the power line manufacturing industry. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing transmission lines, utilizing advanced composite line posts, braced line posts, and insulated cross-arms.
Main Responsibilities:
* Integrate cutting-edge technology into compact new-build and refurbishment transmission line projects, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
* Lead the design and optimization of transmission lines, including insulation coordination, support head geometry, structure spotting, load-strength coordination, span optimization, and more.
* Create comprehensive design solution packages, complete with drawings and detailed reports.
* Engage in research and development efforts to continuously improve transmission line designs with composite insulation.
* Strategically identify and capture business opportunities, ensuring that advanced product solutions are integrated into grid projects.
* Stay current with technical standards and codes, incorporating the latest best practices into your work.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in PLS CADD and PLS POLE transmission line engineering in North America.
* Expertise in designing compact transmission lines with insulated cross-arms.
* Proven success in optimizing transmission line designs and conducting cost evaluation studies.
* Strong knowledge of technical standards and codes for transmission line projects, from planning through execution.
* Demonstrated experience in developing innovative solutions for compact transmission lines.
