Overview:

The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available for patient care. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, preparing samples for laboratory analysis, conducting basic lab tests, monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting in patient preparation for various procedures. This position also involves facilitating patient flow and providing essential support to healthcare providers and administrative staff.

Educational Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Completion of a medical assisting program is highly desirable.

A minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Professional Experience:

At least one year of experience in a healthcare or medical office environment is preferred.

A year of experience with medical terminology is essential.

Familiarity with Bloodborne Pathogen Standards is necessary.

Experience in clinical pharmacology is also required.

Certifications:

Certification as a Medical Assistant or as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
